Czech Liberec Zoo is the oldest zoo is in Liberec of Czech Republic, the former Czechoslovakia. It was established in 1919. At that time it served as a zoo and in the winter as a wintering place for circuses. It consequently served as a menagerie for their animals.
Zoo Liberec is one of the most modern zoos in the Czech Republic, now. It was founded in 1904 (official web) but recorded as 1919 in several documents.

Areas and attraction
Czech Liberec Zoo has an area of 14 hectares (13 h as wiki) and the land of up to 160 animal species from all continents. The area around the zoo is about 1.8 km long and it takes 2-3 hours of time.
This zoo boasts the largest breeding group of Chimpanzees in the Czech Republic and a breeding group of the Somali Wild Ass. It is the first in Europe with regard to this species. The most interesting species include Chinese Golden Takin (acquired in 2002 from the Peking Zoo), Hamadryas Baboon, Nestor Kea, Barbary Lion, Red Panda, Indian Elephant, Forest Reindeer, many opium species, Meerkat, Reticulated Python and of course very popular and greatest attraction white form of Indian Tiger. It is a rare form of Bengal tiger. The Liberec Zoo is the only zoo in the Czech Republic to keep these tigers since 1994. There are also 4 largest species of European Owls, a unique collection of birds of prey and many unique representatives of the Asian bird kingdom.
Czech Liberec Zoo is open daily from 08:00 to 18:00 (Czech Time).
The Liberec Zoo box office closes 60 minutes before closing time – 17:00.
The pavilions close 15 minutes before closing time – at 17:45.
