Result of AWR Big Grand Finale DX Contest 2016

Finally Adventist world Radio AWR Big Grand Finale DX contest disclosed the results. AWR organized this contest through the month of August 2017. To receive the entries, AWR temporary opened a Postal Address in Indiana for the month of September.AWR Big Grand Finale DX Contest

Big Grand Finale DX contest focused on the question:  How many AWR Shortwave sites have you verified?

This contest also invited to submit Three AWR QSL Cards and state why the participants consider its their Best AWR QSL Cards.

In January 2017, AWR announced the result of the AWR Big Grand Finale DX Contest.

The World and Second Place winner received Jerome Berg’s Radio History, the remarkably informative and highly illustrative history volumes.All Participants received additional souvenirs and special endorsed QSL Cards. Two Cards are issued first time only for this purposes.

 

Radio Slovakia International Contest and QSL

Radio Slovakia International

Radio Slovakia International bringing you the juiciest information about Slovakia, from the heart of Europe since 4 January 1993. Radio Slovakia International, was created almost instantaneously with the appearance of independent Slovakia and began broadcasting. The Station started broadcasting in English, French, German, Russian, Spanish and Slovak language.

From the beginning its duties were laid down as providing listeners in other countries with information about the new state and maintaining contact with the numerous expatriate Slovak communities around the world. Organizationally, it is a part of Rozhlas a televízia Slovenska (Radio and Television Slovakia), the state- owned nationwide public broadcasting organization.

Radio Slovakia International stopped broadcasting on shortwave from Slovakia. Now RSI broadcast half hour shows daily, in English, French, German, Russian, Spanish and Slovak, via the internet and satellite.  Its daily 30-minute magazine programs contain news from Slovakia, features on the Slovak economy, sciences, culture, geography, environment, sports, examples of the spoken, written, and musical arts, and portraits of important personalities.

Reception Report and QSL:

Though RSI ceased SW Broadcasting, still its issuing QSL Cards in response of listeners feedback and report reception. Reports received either email or postal, Internet or satellite broadcasting replied with RSI QSL. 2017 is the year of Jozef Miloslav Hurban.  He is the first chairman of the Slovak National Council and a leader of the Slovak Uprising of 1848-1849. RSI is issuing special QSL to memorize Jozef Miloslav Hurban.  To obtain a QSL Card you have to include following details into the report.

1: The date and time when you heard our broadcast.
2: How you heard us (shortwave, internet, WRN etc).
3: Signal strength and signal clarity (if applicable).
4: Information about what you heard (your thoughts on the material).
5: A postal address.

Radio Slovakia International, English language service aired weekly mailbag show, “Listeners Tribune”, every Sunday and each month RSI asked a question focusing Slovak Culture, Tradition and History. In the year 2017, RSI organized a series competition named, “My Slovakia”, focusing everything of Slovakia.

The second episode of My Slovakia focuses on the large numbers of Croatian settlers who came to Slovakia in the 16th century, bringing their language and culture with them. In time, their language morphed with aspects of the Slovak language to create a dialect unique to Slovakia.
