Welcome to the QSL Valley

Ashik Eqbal Tokon

Since 1984, I have been deeply immersed in the world of radio listening. But a passion that grew into a serious pursuit by 1990 when I began collecting QSL cards. Over the years, my collection has become a rich archive of global broadcasting history, featuring confirmations from a wide array of shortwave and pirate radio stations across the world.

My collection includes QSL cards from notable international broadcasters such as Adventist World Radio (AWR), the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Voice of America (VOA), China Radio International (CRI), and Radio Taiwan International. Each card represents a unique connection to the diverse voices and cultures that I have encountered through my radio, from Deutsche Welle (DW) and Radio Veritas Asia (RVA) to Radio Slovakia International, Voice of Mongolia, and Radio Australia.

The collection also includes rare confirmations from stations like Radio Moldova International, Radio Ukraine International, and even pirate stations such as Radio Meridian International, which add an extra layer of intrigue to this lifelong hobby. These QSLs are more than just souvenirs; they are milestones in my journey as a dedicated radio listener and DXer, capturing the essence of a world united by airwaves.

I find Radio Korea International, now KBS World QSL, to be very appealing. Here are some of my RKI QSL cards that I’ve collected. Unfortunately, my first QSL from Radio Korea was in 1992, and I have them stored with some other valuable QSL cards.
